  2. Wow Sophie you are really whizzing around your maths problems. I am like the way you spoke in a clear voice and used the numbers in chunks. What I didn't understand was why you used the parts of the number that you did. Would you be able to tell me that part next time so that I can work it out too.

  5. Hi Sophie (and Jackson)
Thanks for showing us the problem with the number line. I liked how you put the numbers you were adding or taking away inside the bumps and kept the answers on the number line!
You have a very confidant, clear voice for explaining. Have you tried filming this from a 'bird's eye view' angle with the paper on a desk or the floor so we can read the problem better and see just your hands writing?

  7. Kia ora Sophie,
Thanks for sharing your video on your class blog. I am sure lots of people will be able to learn about how to use a number line to add and subtract in parts. You have a good clear voice. I did notice you were a very fast talker, maybe you could try and slow yourself down next time, I do know that's a hard thing to do:-)

  12. Hi, My name is Kristie and I am from South Hornby School. I really liked your strategy on how you worked out that question and how you said everything nice and clearly. I used that strategy once! But now I am using a different one! Did you make that question up yourself? What kind of strategy are you looking forward to doing next?

  13. Hello Sophie, my name is Evan and I am a student from South Hornby School. I really like the way you worked that equation out. I'm pretty sure I learnt that exact strategy earlier in the year. I think maybe next time you could slow down and not rush. Is there any other maths strategy you learnt.
