Self-Portraits

  1. Hello Room 5, what an incredible job you've made of your self-portraits! I thought your drawings were awesome, these final portraits are even better. Frida Kahlo is one of my favourite artists, she had to overcome serious injuries, but even when she couldn't walk, she made the most of what she had to draw - herself, her pets, and her surroundings. I think you've all done a particularly good job of figuring out how to position the eyes on the head, often when we start out drawing portraits, we put them three-quarters of the way up the head, instead of in the middle - leaving enough room for the forehead and the hair. We'll need to get these onto your individual blogs now that they are done.

    1. Thank you, Miss Campbell, for your positive feedback. We've posted our self-portraits on our individual blogs, and we've also displayed them on the walls of the classroom. We invite you to have a look at our portraits on our individual blogs and in our classroom. We really appreciate your feedback and would love you to comment some more on our blogs.

  3. Kia Ora Awahono School I am Phoebe and I go to South Hornby School. I love how you told us what you wanted to do and had lots of colours. Maybe next time you could use SISIMO Sight, Sound and motion. Maybe you could also put the persons name next to the portrait. This reminds me of when I did my own self portrait. Otherwise you have done an amazing job keep up the fantastic work.
