Welcome to Room 5 2016

Meet the children of Room 5, 2016

This year's Room 5 class is made up of 16 Year 5 children (who were in Room 5 last year) and 8 Year 4 children who have moved up from Room 2.

The first day back at school was very exciting because all the children received their new Chromebook. 2016 will be Room 5's first year as a digital immersion class.

On our first day back when we all unpacked our brand new Chromebooks, which was very exciting. Since then we have begun to learn how to find our way around the digital world, and we have also started to learn about being Cybersmart.  When we know a lot more we will be allowed to take our devices home with us.

There was lots of packing to get through!
We are beginning to find our way around the class website.

  1. It must be very exciting receiving your own chromebook.

    1. Thank you, it was actually. We are learning lots of new things to do on our Chromebooks. It is challenging and fun.

  2. It must be very exciting receiving your own chromebook.

  3. Hi Room 5. Are you allowed to take your Chromebooks home now? If you can take your Chromebooks home now, what kind of learning do you do on them? What other fantastic stuff have you learnt about?

    1. Thank you for your comment. Yes, we can all take our Chromebooks home. At home we can do our homework, which our teacher shares out to us every week. We also do online programmes such as Lexia, Touch Typing, Mathletics, Basic Facts and Reading Plus. Before we took our Chromebooks home we had to learn how to respect them and look after them.

  4. Hello Room 5,
It was amazing to see everyone carefully opening there boxes to get to there Chrome Book. Reagan looking excited to get a brand new Chrome Book.

Thank-you for your positive, thoughtful, helpful comment.
